The IAQ4EDU project presents a guide to optimise natural ventilation in educational centres
Jun 09, 2025
Guide focused on establishing ventilation strategies that ensure thermal comfort and air quality
Since the pandemic, indoor air quality in schools has become crucial. In many cases, natural ventilation is the only available means to maintain a healthy environment in classrooms. However, ventilating properly can be a challenge, especially during the cold months, when opening windows can affect the thermal comfort of the students.
To address this need, the IAQ4EDU project has developed a video and an application aimed at the educational community, especially teachers, which offers practical recommendations to optimise natural ventilation according to environmental conditions. The video introduces the use of an intelligent application developed by the project, which offers personalised recommendations based on basic classroom data: number of occupants, thermal conditions, and space characteristics.
With these resources, IAQ4EDU reinforces its commitment to creating healthier and more sustainable school environments, offering accessible solutions based on scientific evidence.
